When times change....

When times change, ways of record keeping changes as well. The type of video shot here to keep the picture of the princess bodice is called boomerang, I am told.
A princess bodice variation with 180degree view of the drape, and metered at the side seam, it indeed is a good drape and indeed a good way to keep record of your drape. Drape and video shoot by Meghna Biswas of 2nd year Fashion Design Programme.

No sooner the young 2nd years have mastered the basic bodice and its variation, they burst with creative energy. Panelling is one such opportunity where they jump up to it and put all there energies in it.

Resort wear tops for 40+ women for the summer 16

Obviously, draping is fun when u know the rules of the game. This year, I was elated to see the response to the question I gave for the last draping academic exam that my students shall face. 

ok! I agree! Who wants to design for a 40 year old? 

But my question was " why not?" . It's the 40 year olds who have more money after all. So, they were asked to design a resort wear top for the summer of 16 for a 40+ woman. 

And here we are with some splendid work by the Sem 5 students. 

how to drape a basic back bodice and join with the front

Here i upload a video of the demonstration of the draping Basic back in my class. Though i quite agree to the fact that in garment making, video tutorials are not the best way to learn the basic. You must learn the basics live. explorations of various types could be gathered from a video tutorial. I must also mention that this video is not a video tutorial. It is a video of a live tutorial shot by my student while giving it in class.

For the grading of the 3rd year fashion design students in the draping module, I wanted to give them a situation where they could design a garment for a occasion.
