The Muslin Gown Experiment




2005 Fashion Design 3rd yr

Although out of syllabus, but in 2005 , fashion design students in the penultimate year were more than agreed to make gowns... Victorian gowns!

and it has changed the path of draping teaching for me.

These were the first batch who wished to make them purely in muslin with inspirations ranging from origami to as delicate as roses and tulips... Victorian bustles and as modern as eyelets.

  1. all such creativity can be extracted out of so exotic individuals and that to by a single soul nouned "RUHEE SHAH" god has His own way of making souls best and Ruhee Mam is just one amongst others on Whom He is proud...and so me too for being her student and shared her knowledge in the most intresting manners,...thanks MR.god and yup thaanku mam.
